Formatting your Email Signature

Paste the starter template into Outlook’s Signature settings and modify the content to reflect your personal information.


Windows Users

  • To plug in the RGB color formulas, select the text you want to change and click the font color drop-down menu. Click on “More Colors,” then the “Custom” tab. Enter the red, green, and blue values in the fields. For example, the correct orange is red: 212, green: 69, and blue: 0.
  • To create a hyperlink, select the text you want to link and click the globe icon (on the far right of the signature editor).Modern email clients add hyperlinks to URLs and email addresses automatically. It is not necessary to add these links manually.

Mac Users

  • To specify the font and size, select the text you want to change and go to “Format > Font > Choose…” from the menubar.
  • To plug in the RGB color formulas, select the text you want to change and go to “Format > Color > Choose…” from the menubar. Enter the red, green, and blue values in the the popup window by selecting the “Color Sliders” icon (2nd in the list), then choose “RGB Sliders” from the dropdown menu. For example, the correct orange is red: 212, green: 69, and blue: 0.
  • To create a hyperlink, select the text you want to link and go to “Format > Hyperlink…” from the menubar.Modern email clients add hyperlinks to URLs and email addresses automatically. It is not necessary to add these links manually.
